ADMISSIONS
The Governing Body, as the admission authority, determines the school’s admission policy and arrangements and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admission. The Governing body works with the Local Authority in order to ensure admissions are coordinated within the Borough.
Nursery
The nursery runs morning and afternoon sessions, with the option of full time. We will take up to 30 children in each session up until the end of the spring term (29th March 2024). Thereafter, we will no longer be accepting applications. Our team of experienced staff provide a warm, friendly and safe environment for your little ones.
Primary
The reception year is when most children will join Castle Newnham School, some may have attended our nursery, but for many this will be their first time within a school environment. If you would like a school tour, please contact the school office. We provide a friendly and transitional environment for those starting school. The classrooms all lead onto a play area just for reception children and we provide structure opportunities for the children to interact with the rest of the school, to help build their confidence over the course of the year.
Reception to year 4 are based on our South site. Years 5 and 6 are based on the North site and have their own separate annexe however, they are also able to access the secondary facilities.
Secondary
Our secondary phase consists of five year groups from age 11 to 16, years 7 to 11. Castle Newnham Year 6 pupils are guaranteed a place in our secondary phase but must still apply via Bedford Borough Council.
In Year Admissions
Requests for admissions into the school for any year group during the academic year, should be made to the Local Authority on the In-Year application form. The form is available from the school or Local Authority website. Please contact the school to enquire if places are available and for a school tour.
