At Castle Newnham we have a careers programme that meets the eight Gatsby benchmarks of good careers guidance. We aim to develop our pupils’ employability skills, share information about local, national and international labour market information, guide pupils to explore and develop career ideas and high aspirations, and educate our young people on their choices of post 16 pathways and beyond. In addition to this we follow up and where necessary offer further support to students after they leave us.
We have a small careers team, dedicated to help guide our pupils through their career and future options. We aim to keep our pupils up to date with careers activities and opportunities and each week we give out current careers information via the Secondary Post.
Parents/carers and pupils can request a careers appointment by emailing: careers@castlenewnham.school
Careers Leader – Sean Carter – careers@castlenewnham.school
Careers Administrator – Mrs Barton – careers@castlenewnham.school
Careers advice is provided by our external partner 4YP UK Ltd. Mr Stephen Roach is an experienced fully qualified level 6 careers practitioner who is contracted to come into school to provide all our pupils with a 45 minute careers interview via an appointment system devised by the careers lead. To request a careers appointment, pupils and parents/carers can email: careers@castlenewnham.school.
STEM coordinator – Glen Mulkerrins – careers@castlenewnham.school
CEIAG provision in school is also monitored by: CEIAG Link Governor – Helen Smith

Our Careers Education, Advice and Guidance Policy can be found on Our Policies page by clicking here, which provides further information including our provider access statement.
We are always here to support you throughout your child’s school journey and with decisions for post 16 pathways .
